First you claimed that the artifacts of Iraq belong to the Iraqi people and then you recant by saying they belong to all of humanity. Well, those are two different arguments for ownership of the past, one being Country of Origin Argument and the other being the Humanity Ownership Argument. The looting of antiquities by Iraqi people clearly show that they are NOT the best stewards of their own past. Also, the American military was given a list of HUNDREDS of archaeological sites (by American Near Eastern Archaeologists) that were to be protected at all costs. So your statements of American's don't care about Iraqi antiquities and the American military only protected Iraqi oil are both FALSE. You may want to do a little research before you make such blatant counterfactual statements. Please feel free to argue with me via e-mail.

First, I never claimed that the Mesopotamian artifacts belong to the Iraqi people only. In fact, I said the artifacts don't belong to the Iraqi people only but to all of humanity; so you may need to report more correctly the statments of people you criticize in order to be more convincing.chadi12:19:22 04/17/03 Thu
