Glenda, that is sad, ...reeeeeaaaallllllly SAD!!
But there is one thing that ticks me off much quicker and hotter,...it's these names that are spelled phonetically, practically, while on the operating table in the maternity ward.
You know...certain RACES do this, ill prepared to have so many kids, but hey, I am not judging, just sharing,
and anyhoo,
they get into the delivery room, out pops the next kid, no name has been carefully selected, voted on and practiced....no, no.... last minute, they are hangin' over the womb there with the cord uncut, and say, "Well, Rufus, uh...duz ya like the name "Melanie"?
"Why, yep, lil darlin', I likes it jes' fine, if you'll duz. But how does ya spell it, Mother?"
"I doesn't know fer sure and all,
but I reckin it's spelt M-I-L-O-K-N-E-E...."Miloknee".
And that's that, the nurse snickers, the clerk chokes, but NO ONE, not even the OB/GYN has the guts to tell Mr. and Mrs. Johnson that Melanie is NOT "Miloknee". And pur pur Melanie has to fight and struggle through life with a Japanese like name, but hey, it's better than her brother,
"Youbangghee". He's beaten to a pulp almost everyday before Home Room!
