In reply to: Prospective Bunnyite 's message, "So if I read an editorial that I felt insulted my belief system in the New York Times, would I be justified in burning down Manhattan?" on 10:01:43 11/23/02 Sat

All kidding aside, the media has real power to shape public opinion. An off color remark about race, religion or other can trigger a disaster... a riot, a bombing, an assination.

The person that says "Go kill 'em" shares responsiblity with the one who does the killing. Simple as that, Rush Limbaugh and the like please take note.

If the president beats the war drums and says, "Let's go have us a war against the axis of evil", he's responsible for the death and destruction and World War Three too.

All the reporter said was that Muhammad would have approved of the pageant, and perhaps would've married a contestant. That's hardly a warcry. Doesn't that person have a right to express an editorial opinion just as much as others have a right to *peacefully* disagree?Don't express an opinion cuz you might piss off a Moslem extremist20:07:06 11/23/02 Sat
