Lord Funlinger was in his cups once more, and his blue tail curled in piquant shame. Like most mishaps in his life, this one began in the wee hours after Mimsy Borogrove�s cotillion. Lord Funlinger��Beefy� to all but his very few friends�had strove to impress a fair young thing with gossamer hair and the lilting gait of a Fairy Queen. Oh! Beefy was smitten! His heart went pronouncedly hullabaloo within his simian chest cavity. It appeared his only rival for this sugar plum was a fellow composed chiefly of snow�Beefy knew the type all too well: round, white, with the requisite coal button eyes. The snowman was cold, �emotionally unavailable�: sheer nectar to a girl untrammeled by Society. Lord Funlinger waxed wroth to see her expose her well-turned ankle to this bloated icicle.....
