Subject: theme of matrix

though i m surprised mukul took so long to figure out the parallelisms between hinduism and matrix, i must agree with him though that of most other that i know of, the concepts in hinduism viz maya and nirvana are defined the same way in the matrix.
the very first thing that struck me after watching the movie was the analogies it posed to hindu philosophy. there are zillions in the movie that describe the concepts of maya and nirvana and being able to realize one self.

the western thought is fundamentally different (though i do not say one is right and the other is not) from the eastern philosophies of taoism, hinduism, buddhism and the likes.. as studied by friztof in the tao of physics.

however, i feel i must argue someone's claim that the theme of matrix is reflected also in western school of thought.

there are some universal truths in all religions and some are symbolically said in the movie, but the main theme of nirvana and self-realization etc are not the core concepts in the western thought.

it would be nice however as someone else said, that in the third movie if the theme is somehow (without spoiling the effect) brought to reflect the ideology of all religions...

its posible however the w. brothers are doing just that and i am failing to see that universal theme ..
