You are attempting to rewrite the ending a piece of art. The artists aren't going to change their creation to suit your likes. This is how they created the movies, and like it or not, thats what it is.

P.S. Neo didn't whip smith like he did in the first two movies because he was fighting the smith clone of the oracle... how can you win in a fight, against an opponent can forsee all your moves? Hence the ending when neo realizes 'your right, smith, it was ineveitable'
