First of all, thanks for taking the time to post something worth reading. Second, thanks for avoiding Minority Report spoilers. I have seen the movie though.

My main point was that there is not a past or future inside the matrix--only the so-called present--just like a filmstrip or program as we know it today. I'm not sure if I was clear there. The hard part is understanding what Neo is going through. I think he is beginning to understand the cause/effect relationship and therefore able to see parts of the 'future.' But, since Neo is the result of an anomaly (or however u want to phrase it)the cause/effect relationship gets distorted. Thus, he may see certain things that happen in the 'future' but he may not know exactly what's going to happen because the results of the anamoly in sum affect the entire matrix system at an increasing rate. In a sense, i agree with you in the direction that you think the W. Bros are taking regarding the future. I'm not suggesting that Neo becomes omniscient.
