Subject: 中國人格的特徵

(1) 閉固性人格
傳統的中國人的「自我」則傾向於循例重俗，被動閉縮，自制自足，傾向於孤立與默從，他們甚少有主動地「參與行為」。

(2) 權威性人格
中國的社會結構是以家庭為基礎，家庭中的成員關係是以父與子的關係為『主軸』，其他種種關係也都以這一主軸為中心。父子的關係不但發生作用於家庭之中，而且擴及宗族，乃至於國家。中國古代的君臣關係，實是父子關係的投射。由於中國社會的背景所孕育，中國人的性格因素首先是服從權威和長上(父子關係的擴大)

(3) 特殊取向與人情味
中國社會是以原級團體(primary group)為主的。在原級團體中，人與人的關係是基於身分的，亦即是特殊取向地。凡中國人活動範圍接觸所及，他都會不知不覺間以「親人」目之，因此亦以「親人」相待，而顯出慇懃與關懷，乃充滿一片人情味。可是，在一個人親屬或擬親屬關係圈之外的人即屬「外人」，外人則人際關係終斷，而不兔顯出無情。

(4) 形式化與面子間題
中國人在禮教的育化與社化下，不知不覺地受了禮的支配，由於禮是一強有力的社會規範，無人敢於抗違，因為被人稱為「無禮」是一對面子極大的懲罰。不得已只好在表面上遵行以保護「面子」。

(5) 融洽自然，當下即是
中國人對自然始於欣賞，終於相忘。而中國文化此一特性乃塑造了中國人融洽自然，「當下即是」的人格，此一人格使中國人產生渾厚，圓化，與物無爭的和平天性，以及欣賞生命，虔敬宇宙，與直觀靜省的內心生活。
