中國人不重視對‘新範疇進行研究探索’，我們對社會以至宇宙每樣事物，早已覺得都是整整有條，理所當然，我們看到宇宙和社會間的一切一切，都已經有舊有的解說，加上儒、法兩家思想和歷代政權，根本就壓抑著我們，不許我們逾越、質疑及挑戰舊有思想，假如我們留意一些在中國式保守環境長大的人，他們的感知很難被外界刺激出新觀念。
感知是當我們和外界接觸後，因而產生的意念和看法，如果我們對這些意念覺得好奇，與及不滿足於意念只是初淺的層次，我們會更深入地研究探索，之後便累積起很多知識，當然包括科學知識；很奇怪，二千幾年來存在過的中國人數以億計，他們絕大多數對社會的感知只是倫常尊卑，對大自然的感知只是避世或感懷，而外國人找出四大發明的功用，跟中國人的差別會是如此截然不同。
現代的中國人倡導科學，主要是從舊有角度來衡量科學的價值，因為科學可以幫助改進這刻既有的東西，例如生產力、軍事和醫學等等，基本上這些都是現代社會形態的各種部份；過往幾百年來科學重大地改變了人類社會，未來幾百年會不會有一種新事物重大地改變人類社會，如果是有，會是甚麼人替新事物接生來到我們的世界呢？
