My best friend, Droog, an 11 year old Chocolate lab, was diagnosed with diabetes a little over 6 months ago. Droog was admitted to the hospital in Ketoacidosis and his prognosis was not good. I was told he would have about 3 weeks to live. I cannot tell you the amount of tears that were shed…. but I never gave up! Droog is as healthy and beautiful as the years prior to his diagnosis. He is happy and active and leading a normal life. He is insulin dependent and is on strict home cooked meals. My lifestyle has definitely changed… I am up at 5 AM every day to feed and give insulin and I fly home from work to repeat. I have not regretted one minute!

The vet bills are astronomical. I have gotten some relief from the wonderful people at Labrador Lifeline…but there is still a huge outstanding debt that unfortunately keeps growing.

I have started painting glasses (various dog breeds) and I am auctioning them off on the IMOM web site. If you would take a look I would certainly appreciate it!!! The registration process only takes a minute or two….easy and quick! Please pass on to others you may think would like to see them....and remember Christmas is coming!

There is a Rottie set!!!!

Thanks!
Big Hugs

BTW – IMOM is an organization that helps financially strapped owners of pets or strays get veterinary treatment in lieu of being euthanized. They are a wonderful organization with wonderful members…. If you have not looked at their site, you should browse the board.
