In reply to: The Original Old School Student 's message, "GEN X - ANOTHER FLY-BY-NIGHT INDY PROMOTION" on 08:33:53 09/26/02 Thu

I won't delete this message, for the simple fact that you state alot of facts. Promotions come and go. Look at APW, All Star,HCW, and the countless others that appear and disappear almost as quickly. The difference (that I'm tired of stating) with Gen X, is that it isn't going to be a roster comprised of a single set of individuals. It is going to be a showcase of independent talent from the local scene, as well as the bordering states. Aside from your personal opinions of how you see me and what I choose to do with my wrestling career, you made very valid claims.

If you're offended by my choices, that's fine and you're entitled to your opinion. Will I take your advice into consideration, yes I will. Will GenX be a fly-by-night failure? Hardly. There are too many outside parties involved already for it to just be a small promotion that will not make an impact. Whether or not the other WV independents will like it is a rather moot point. If an independent promotion would adhere to the supposed focus of being an independent promotion (giving a foundation-point for up-and-coming talent to improve their skills and learn from the veterans, instead of seeing how many older,semi- established superstars you can get to squash the young talent that is striving to advance to a better understanding of their trade.

As for me being hurt, yes I am injured. But am I injured to the point to where I cannot compete? No. I have two pins that will be removed soon, and I'll be able to pick up my normal schedule and accept more bookings. I love wrestling and nothing outside of God himself will stop me from doing it. Am I threatened by your "Well, maybe you should be careful then when you work with other promotions... maybe they will put you in bad matches or get another worker to teach you how things are really done around here." Hardly. I've been "shot" on before. If nothing else, it makes the "shooter" look bad in the situation. Why would you want a bad match if you're trying to improve your product, which should be the main goal of every show. If by saying "how things are really done around here" you mean trying to bury a talent because you don't agree with them or the promotions they choose to work for, then that removes the "professional" from their vision of professional wrestling.

I will never be "above my raising" because I am thankful for who trained me, Adorable Danny Ray, instilling wise decision-making skills, and moral integrity into me as well as teaching me the ropes so-to-speak. And as for the "You are nothing more than a gimmick... and a bad one at that.", gee I guess NWA and all the work that I've been getting up and down the East Coast means that a bad gimmick kid from WV can get over regardless of how the local nay-sayers try to tell him he's nothing more than house talent.

You see, you can come here and post under any anonymous name you'd like, belittle my life, beliefs, and dreams, but it changes nothing. You not posting your name proves how unprofessional, disrespectful, and just outright cowardly you are. Your post, although worded quite well, is just another example of how people like to belittle someone when they gain any type of ground in achieving their goals.
