I know what you mean. It can be like pulling teeth, trying to find decent Medieval art online. But, speaking of Google, I'm not sure if you used the search engine for web pages alone, but there is a fantastic Image Search on their website as well (www.google.com), and I've always found that helpful.

As to specific suggestions, I tend to be partial towards Boccaccio, even though he's a little too far in the Late period.

The same for the fantastic illustrations which you can find searching for 'Froissart's Chronicles', a historical (though blatantly pro-English) account of the opening years of the Hundred Years' War by Jean Froissart in the early 14th Century.

'Early' Medieval art isn't quite so easy, in my opinion. Hard to find really -quality- representations, but you might want to search, for instance,

You might want to search for:

'Carolingian Art'. Some great images I've pulled up there, in particular.

'Norman Art'. Great representations of Norman art, and can even find some great 'castle' art under that one, too.

'Bayeux Tapestry'. Really can't go wrong with it. HUGE amount of images to pull from, considering all of the panels to it. In fact, I am considering doing my presentation (a la Power Point) with images inserted from the Bayeux Tapestry, as in sum it really illustrates the sum of Medieval life: short, brutal, and bloody. Google's image database had more than 900 images from this alone.

Don't know if any of this helps, but hope so!
