After the waiver draft left both their teams short, the Calgary Cougars and BC Huskies swapped players to improve some depth. Headed to BC is journeyman goalie Freddy Braithwaite. Coming back to Calgary is defenseman Ben Clymer. "We lost Havelid and Simpson from the farm team on Sunday. In Clymer we get an extra body for the blueline in Red Deer. Freddy played a great season for us last year, however after getting Johan Hedberg and Dan Cloutier this offseason, Fred was going to be stuck on the farm. And we already have Dan Blackburn down there, as well as Arturs Irbe. So Fred as the oddman out. We wish him the best of luck in BC"
