In the interest of keeping things moving in the GWHL, I'd like to make a proposal for the two teams (Steeltown and Charlottetown) lacking GMs.

My proposal is that two of the more trustworthy GMs currently in the league take on a limited GM role for each team. By limited, I mean that the GMs would make lineup decisions only- in other words, they would submit the most competitive lineup possible for each game. They would not be allowed to make trades, or generally add or subtract players from the 45-man roster (except to get down to the 45-man limit, of course).

Since the two teams available are located in the Eastern Conference, I think the best candidates to be the GMs would come from the Western Conference. This would limit the desire to, um, "throw the game", since Eastern Conference games don't mean as much to Western Conference teams.

This off-season cannot drag on any longer. I understand that there were some extenuating circumstances that necessitated a delay, but we will be in a never-ending hunt for GMs if we drag it out any longer. There are several leagues looking for GMs right now, so our league won't be very attractive if it is inactive. I think this is the best solution to the problem, but I'd like to hear what others think.
