Boolean search, with AND,OR,NOT operators, is only available in the DBSearch scan mode and it is this mode the preferable to carry out search tasks.
The Search/Filter tool is used to refine the scan mode results and, as you have already discovered, search, for the entire expression entered, in the info fields selected, or file text content.
The idea is to search using the DBSearch mode, from the all database indexed files, the ones that agree with the Boolean search expression entered, and independently of the info fields. Later, we can refine the search results using the Search/Filter tool, but only if what we want to find continue hidden in the mess of many files.
I intend to add, in future versions, Boolean operators to the Search\Filter tool and also the possibility to specify source fields in the DBSearch mode. Meanwhile we have to work with what we have ;-)
