It would then be reasonable to disable the program completely if we do not download the new version but allow it to keep working if there is no new version available. Alternatively (avoiding the need for the internet interface), if there is more than a one month interval between versions, make available a small download which once installed will keep the program working until the expected release date. It is annoying to have this excellent program available most of the time but then to lose functionality even though we are still testing the latest version for you.
