Subject: Working Around the Yard

Well, it's starting to get cold out... again. Yuck! Anyways, we cleaned out the pastures, mucked out the stalls thoroughly, hosed them down, stacked some new haybales in the barn, threw some straw down, bedded stalls, cleaned feed and water buckets, threw away anything broken and unfixable, cleaned tack, (oiled etc.) swept the isles, fixed fences that needed fixing, and moved horses to pastures closer to the barn. We fed the horses, turned them out, cleaned the winter blankets (washed them) went into town and bought new curry combs, hoof picks, and body brushes. Then, we brushed each horse throughly, worked those who needed working, gave horses hay and water in their pasture and went straightned up the toy room and the pet room and the office. Then we played with the pets and cleaned their cages and what-not. (Shawn and I took MEA off with the kids) then we went inside and I took a nap! Later that night we brought in most of the horses, gave them all hay, more water, and grain. We gave them kisses, and said good-night and went inside for the rest of the night.
