Subject: Last Day Before School Starts

Well, it's true, this summer really truly did fly past us! Shawn and I decided to take the kids to a water park, to have a little fun before school starts again. So the kids woke me up at 5:00 this morning and asked if I would help them start the horse chores, I told them I was sleeping and I'd help them in another hour in a half! They reluctantly agreed. by the time Shawn and I (with Nevada and Thomas) got outside and we were ready to work, we didn't have much left to do! They had already fed and turned out the horses, watered and gave them hay in their pastures, and they were just finishing mucking out stalls. So we told the kids to go up to the house and take Thomad and Nevada with, and Shawn and I would finish up. So we went out to the field with each horse's grooming bucket, and groomed them thoroughly. by the time we had finished that, the kids had told us they were ready. They had all taken showers and were dressed (in swim-suits of course!) I went up to the house to wash up and make breakfast, and Shawn finished with rebedding stalls and refilling haynets and getting evening feeds ready. Then, finally, at 11:00, we were all ready to go!

We had a TON of fun at the water park, everyone was tired but when we got back at 5:00 we had horses to work, feeds to be fed, horses to bring in, we had to water horses, and the list never ended! I layed Lacey, Nevada, Thomas, and Linsey down for a nap in the play room of the barn (monitors on) and then I helped finish up. What a busy/fun day it turned out to be!!
