Subject: Spring Cleaning!

Well, it feels like every day with the horses is spring cleaning! Especially now when it's muddy outside and they're constantly kicking up mud and need to be groomed 24/7!! Grr, "naughty" horses! lol, j/k! Although they do seem to enjoy the extra work they cause me and my family! Anyways, this morning I woke up at 6:30 like usual and went out in this dreary wet and rainy weather to turn out the horses for awhile and clean out there stalls. I just finished cleaning stalls when Shawn, Lisa, MeShelle, Erick, Linsey, Lacey and Nevada came out to help me. Adam stayed inside with Thomas. Ever since Nevada's discovered her legs and how they can move her she LOVES being outside with the horses! She listens well so we allow her to come with us. Anyways, they mixed up the feeds and fed the horses while I went inside, washed up, watched Thomas while Adam got ready for school, and made breakfast for everyone. Then everyone went to school, daycare or work. (except me, I work out of my home, Farrier, Vet etc., all at home work!! lucky me!! seriously!) So I cleaned tack, my barn office, the toy room, the wash racks, hosed down the stalls, swept the tack room, isles etc., knocked down cobwebs, brought over some more hay and straw for the weekend, cleaned out feed and water buckets, checked fences, stalls, everything else for repairs that needed to be done, only one haynet had to be thrown away, racked all the arenas for better footing, cleaned out the pasture, went in for some late lunch! The kids also came home from school at this time! Woofta! Hard work!!

At 5:30 Shawn came home, he was tired from work so he stayed inside with Thomas and Adam and everyone else helped me finish up, we gave a thorough groom to ALL the horses! (hard work!) gave everyone a thorough vet exam, they all passed with flying colors, checked everyone's feet (we'll need to trim them soon, not this week though) monitored their weight and height, and let them go into their stalls. then, we cleaned out the bathroom (people bathroom) cleaned toilets, sinks etc., and finally the barn was spotless!! yeah!! all that hard work and we were done! Well, then we had to clean out the animal's room, the kids did that though, I fed and watered the horses, gave them hay and bedding. Turned on the radio and went inside, made supper, took a hot bath, and went to bed!! YIPPEE!!
