Robert,
There are some things that you should have in place before
attempting to weld Aluminum. First you joints need to be clean,
and one moore quick cleaning fust before you close your hood.
Second, you need to get some Nozzle-Kleen #2 Anti-Spatter. This
is sprayed on areas to be protected from spatter build-up for
long lasting protection. Spray your Tip, Nozzle and gas diffuser
areas to stay free of spatter resulting in better gas coverage,
penetration and appearance.
I use .30 wire and a high speed for my wire dispersion. Also
because Aluminum has a faster expansion rate than other metal
feed wires, I go one size bigger on the tip allowing for this.
It will keep you from making a nest at you spool end. I also run
pure Argon for Aluminum at around 20 on the bar, or 25 if out
side and you have breeze blowing.

You'll get the hang of it quickly!!

GOOD LOOK!
