Please tell me what invertec model you are using?
I have invertec V205T and I weld .060 al without any problem.

I use 3\32 ceriated or 3\32 thoriated sharpen like to weld steel, en is 75% frequency 150 hrz. Please give me more detail on your setting. At first glance 1\8 is to big, because you will need about 90 amp no more.
