Use pure Argon. Keep the torch straight. Use larger contact tip.(1.2mm for 0.9 wire) Try to get magnesium alloy wire. This is much stiffer and feeds better. Avoid long continuous welds. The wire heats up inside the liner and becomes soft, kinking and jamming results. Set the wire spool friction high and feed roller friction low. This seems to hold back the wire and I get much less birdcaging. If the welder has a Euro connector- replace the guide tube with a longer one that almost touches the feed rollers. The alignment of the rollers to guide tube should be perfect.
