After a number of years with Dad being overseas, in England, Hawaii, or Baghdad depending on the day, my dad is finally home. As of last week my dad is unofficially a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the United States Army. His official retirement is on May 5. He has been serving since just after the Vietnam war and has been to some pretty wild places. I have to admit though that it is good to have him home. It still hasnt really set in for me that he is here to stay. I have gotten pretty used to him just comng home for a few days and then heading back out. The funny thing about all this is that he is already looking for a job. He wants to work for the FBI, CIA, DEA, someone up in Portland who will hire a retired military intelligence guy. Hopefully he will be able to spend some time before then enjoying retirement and getting in a few rounds of golf...I'll go with him if he does. Thanks for your prayers and thoughts for him and my family while he was away. God's hand was definitely with him while he was over there keeping him out of harm.
