It's good to let the anger out sometimes. I empathize with work frustrations. The other day while I was scanning merchandise for this lady she asked "is there a place I can keep this stuff that I'm buying for an hour or so while I go watch a movie at the other end of the mall? or can you hold it for me behind your tiny and cramped checkstand?"

so I said "maybe at the guest service desk (20 feet away from me) where they squeeze around each other in their claustrophobic work area"

lady: "can't you call them or ask them because I'm too lazy to walk over there and do it myself while you're busy working and scanning my stuff that I'm probably not even going to buy"

me: "well, gee, let me leave my checkstand and other customers and ask them while you stand here and complain about carrying 1 tiny bag of 5 items across the mall"

lady: "ok, well, since you're not meeting my every wish and whim, then all I want is this toothpaste and I'll come back in an hour after I watch my movie. By then you'll have put back these things I'm giving you and I'll take them off the shelves and buy them again."

me: "thanks, have a craptacular day, apply for a target card"
