Nominee Statement:
“In December of 2000, I ran for IEB VP due to its role in expansion. As an undergrad, AOE helped shape my life professionally and emotionally, teaching me how to be a better leader, listener, and friend. It was my aspiration to bring these qualities to more colleges and to offer other women in engineering and technical sciences a much-needed environment for support and encouragement. 3+ years, 2 chapter installations, and 5 colony installations later, I hope that I have left the expansion program a little better off than I had found it, and I am confident that my successor will see that the program continues to grow and flourish. I now feel this is the perfect opportunity for me to take a step back from expansion and take a look at the sorority as a whole. I believe I have learned much from past and present members of the IEB, and have also kept my eyes and ears open to the desires of Chapters, Colonies, and Alumnae. With this knowledge, I feel I will be able to direct the sorority to a level of healthy communication between all members. I look to the ’04-’06 term as a time to increase alumnae participation, encourage year-round inter-chapter activities, and to strengthen International ties with our sisters in Canada. This is an exciting era for AOE, and I hope to serve you during this time as your new IEB President.”

Nominee for Vice President: Nominated by:

Nominee Statement:
“AOE has always been something that is a part of me, not only me a part of it. I am a recent graduate of the Alpha chapter where I assumed the role of Vice President, spearheading efforts to step up recruitment for not only our own chapter, but also tag teaming with the Delta chapter. I chaired countless committees, most notably, Alumnae Corresponding Secretary where I brought Alpha Alumnae back into the happenings of the chapters on both an event and personal level.
I am what some refer to as a “logistical mastermind” and enjoy planning and all the behind the scenes work that goes into a project/organization. I enjoy finding new opportunities and I understand the importance of expansion and inclusion. This is why I feel the role of Vice President is best suited for my personality and strengths, specifically as one of the main responsibilities is for expansion.
I recently became involved with the Interchapter Relations committee and though I have not served a year on the committee, I am very excited to see where IEB and AOE will go in the future. I have a lot of energy and dedication to that which I commit myself to. And I want to commit myself to being the Vice President of the IEB.”

Nominee for Vice President: Nominated by:
Melissa (Davis) Stambaugh (Theta, 2002) Maureen B. Borillo

Nominee Statement:
“Since joining AOE in 2000, I have consistently either held a chapter position or served on an IEB committee. Most importantly, I served a presidential term while active at Theta chapter. I feel this particular position of leadership truly cultivated my motivation and passion to serve the sorority and to strive for leading AOE in a positive direction. Since becoming an alumna, I have thoroughly enjoyed assisting the current VP with expansion efforts on the committee. Since graduation, my goal has been to continue to give back to AOE as long as I am capable. Becoming part of the IEB is the ultimate way that I can utilize my exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills to serve the sorority as a whole. My recent work with the expansion committee, combined with an understanding of the dedication required to hold a position within AOE, demonstrates that I am committed to doing everything I can to ensure that AOE continues to grow successfully.”

Nominee Statement:
“Throughout my time as an active member of Alpha Omega Epsilon, I have had a lot of contact with the IEB. From my first convention in St. Louis, to being president of my chapter, my understanding and appreciation for all the IEB does has grown expediently throughout the years. It is this appreciation for the role of the IEB, as well as my love for the sorority, that I have chosen to run for this position. Alpha Omega Epsilon has been a large part of my life. My experience as an active includes chairing several committees, membership educator and president. The experience of holding these offices had lead me to the position of IEB secretary. I have seen the amount of effort that is involved with maintaining the records of one chapter and I am ready to commit to the level of involvement needed at the international level. I recognize the need for continuity among the chapters in regards to record keeping and together with the interchapter relations officer, would make this a goal during my term.
I believe it is important that the IEB represent the sorority as a whole, every chapter together, not as individuals. I also think it is important to extend and strengthen the relationship between the IEB, alumna, and the active members. While an office on the IEB is about fulfilling the duties of your elected position, it is about serving the sorority as a whole.
I would be honored to represent each active and alumna as your IEB Secretary. Thank you.”

Nominee for Treasurer: Nominated by:

Nominee Statement:
“I feel I am an excellent candidate for IEB Treasurer based upon my professional and personal qualifications and my commitment to Alpha Omega Epsilon Sorority. I have held various leadership positions while being an active and as an alumna. I consider myself well-versed in sorority fundamentals. As an active, I was a successful Secretary, Vice President, Membership Educator and interim Treasurer. As an alumna I have volunteered by assisting in AOE expansion and by heading the committee that planned the 20th Anniversary celebration weekend last fall. I am a very organized person and love to put things in systems and categories. I find satisfaction in problem solving; tackling a problem piece by piece doing research as necessary to determine a solution. I am financially conscientious and keep records well. I seek to be an integral part of building and maintaining the sorority through financial responsibility and growth to ensure security. I would like to help in our chapters’ understanding of the sorority’s financial goals and empower them to be a part of the process. Beyond all the technical qualifications I also simply hope to contribute a positive attitude and open personality to the IEB. I would love to continue to meet and get to know sisters throughout the sorority. I know I will thoroughly enjoy the tasks and responsibilities of being treasurer. Thank you for your consideration.”

Nominee Statement:
“Since 2001 I have served as the IEB committee head for the Membership Coordinator committee. This responsibility has given me the opportunity to stay involved with IEB, as well as communicate effectively with all chapters to obtain Member information. As an Active member of the Alpha chapter, I held a number of offices including Vice president, Membership Educator, and Secretary, exposing me to IEB, as well as developing my leadership within the chapter.
I have decided to run for ICR because I not only have the experience of being an alumnae serving IEB, but also the benefit of being a recent graduate which reminds me of the responsibilities and stresses of college.
The ICR position has always been of interest to me because I enjoyed being Mem. Ed. While an active. Also, I love working with the Actives. I firmly believe that our sorority’s livelihood comes from them. I back up this belief by staying active as an alumna with the Alpha Chapter, attending many of their Alumnae activities. I have also started working with the current ICR on improvements to this position and its committee. I have many new ideas that I would love to develop if given the opportunity.
I work as a project manager in my career and this has helped develop and solidify my communication and organizational skills. I have also obtained my Masters Degree while working full time. This was time consuming and, while preventing me from holding an IEB position, taught me the importance of prioritization and dedication. I have no other commitments at this time and would like to dedicate myself to IEB. I feel that I am the best candidate for this position and look forward to the possibilities that lie ahead.”
