Mine would have to be the ordeal I encountered getting to 2002 summer convention in Syracuse. To make a long story short, my puddle-jumper connecting flight from Champaign to Chicago got cancelled, the hotel room in Syracuse was in my name and Amy Devine was on her way driving to Syracuse from Boston to meet me at the hotel that night. After getting the hotel situation straightened out, they let Amy check in for me and gave her the room. I was told to catch the next flight out to Chicago the next morning (6am flight meant be there between 4am-5am.. after having waited in the Champaign airport until 11pm to find out my flight wouldn't get to Chicago). Then they would get me to Syracuse eventually. Well I got to Chicago with no problems, and then it was time to play the waiting game at O'Hare waiting to get put on a flight to SYR. While waiting in the gate area, I noticed another woman flipping through papers that appeared to be AOE-related. So being the friendly person I am, I went up to said woman and started to talk to her =) I had met Krista Henrickson from North Dakota! We were both on our way to convention and were awaiting our flights. We ended up on the same flight, and waited for our shuttle at the SYR airport together. We arrived at convention together, LATE, and the fact that I got to experience the late arrival with another sister made it all worthwhile! =) I just am not sure that I want that to happen again this year.. but just to be safe I am flying non-stop to MCO =)
