Hi, i'm not a usual poster here (mostly because my english sucks) so I tend to be a lurker....but I'm a medicine student and Psychiatry is my passion ^_-
Seishirou doesn't seem a psychopath to me, here's some characteristics of psychos:
"Glib and superficial charm; Grandiose sense of self-worth; Need for stimulation; Pathological lying; Conning and manipulativeness; Lack of remorse or guilt; Shallow affect; Callousness and lack of empathy; Parasitic lifestyle; Poor behavioral controls; Promiscuous sexual behavior; Early behavior problems; Lack of realistic, long-term goals; Impulsivity; Irresponsibility; Failure to accept responsibility for own actions; Many short-term marital relationships; Juvenile delinquency; Revocation of conditional release; Criminal versatility"
Sei-chan lives by himself, he's not a parasite and he knew how to adapt to a society (the "nice veterinarian" facade). Sei seems to have lots of self control, he's more calculating than impulsive or irresponsible. Don't forget killing is just his job, he doesnt feel the urge to do it.
To me Seishirou seems Nacissistic:
1. a grandiose sense of self-importance
2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
3. believes that he or she is "special" and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)
4. requires excessive admiration
5. has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favourable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations
6. is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
7. lacks empathy and is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others
8. is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her
9. shows arrogant, haughty behaviours or attitudes
I use to have a boyfriend who was narcissistic, and he was so "Seishiou-ish". Their grandiosity and need of admiration isn't that obvious....thay are such a good actors, so you believe in their false modesty (and in their capacity to love). I think he made that "promise" with Subaru because he was so in need to be the center of other people's life.
