I know they didn't mean to (but ya never know ~_^), but FF7 and X have a lot in common (which is another reason I really enjoy that game ^_^)
Characters(how I named them and why)
Cloud=Kamui (duh! Main character, has that silent stuck up attitude at first, then becomes caring and cute, has a sword, falls in love with a girl who gets killed by the man he used to trust)
Aerith=Kotori (obviously. sweet natured girl who gets killed by someone related to her, gets killed by a sword (though it's to the back, not chest), communicates with (understands) nature, knows everything will turn out all right
Sephiroth=Fuuma(If I could name him >.<) (well, basically, the bad-ass guy who's taking violent terms to stand up for the earth! He's got a sword, was aquainted with the main character, he just has that bad-guy presence that's so cool ^_^, oh yeah, and both of them torture the guy who just wants the Sephiroth/Fuuma they used to know to come back to how they were before)
Barret(sp?)=Sorata (So he was the one I couldn't pinpoint. Still, he's got a lot of battle energy, and he's always around Cloud (talking, messing with, etc.))
Tifa=Arashi (the black hair and the fact that she was working with Barret when you first see her. It doesn't perfectly work since Tifa loves Cloud and Arashi doesn't "love" Kamui, but, eh, whatever)
Yufie=Yuzuriha (there's a genki soul in EVERY game! Yuzuriha would be able to be in just about any game you can name a character. The little genki girl...)
Vincent=Kakyou (the girl he loved died and he couldn't save her, so he always has this sad distanceness about him)
Cid=Kusanagi (big buff guy who acts like a big brother. why not?)
Story
well, it's a "save the earth" battle...
kotori/aerith is killed by fuuma/sephiroth (who was once a "friend" of kamui/cloud), but her death is to help save the earth (this is the major point I have)
Whenever cloud/kamui meets up with sephiroth/fuuma, they become putty in their hands o.o
basically, the cloud/kamui sephiroth/fuuma parallels are plentiful
hypothesis
aerith died for the earth and her power helped stop the meteor. Will kotori's death help save the earth? of course, X doesn't really talk about the "return to earth and be reborn later", so who knows.
sephiroth died (sorta, he may be in the movie, so again, who knows) and cloud lived. I hope this happens in X (Fuuma should get struck by lightning over and over...)
There ya go! The parallels in the game! How many more are there? Let's find them all!
