Um... as far as I was taught, actually, that phrase would still use 'ga'.

And yes, he did try to be killed be Subaru. That much was fairly obvious- what is also obvious is that Seishirou's mother told him the his character file that he would be killed by the person he loved, and that it was a happy thing to be killed by the person you loved. So yes, saying 'I love you' at that moment is perfectly logical, and very likely what he did say.

If he said "I never liked you", then what his mother told him was either wrong, or he was lying about it. Given the nature of CLAMP's take on ill-fated lovers, I find that highly unlikely.
