Aa, all this grammar is making my head spin.

As long as there was no plausible way for him to have said "I love you, Hokuto," or "I hate you"--actually, that would be rather blunt for Sei-san, isn't it?--I'm happy.
Actually, even "I love you" is pretty blunt...but that is what it would take to get through to Sub-kun, wouldn't it?
