I would say calling it a stereotype for S/S fans to like Seishirou first isn't completely true. In my experience, it's been about half-and-half. For instance, I liked Subaru first but my significant other liked Seishirou first (which worked out well for cosplay). I know other pairs of hardcore X fans that are the same way. And S/S fans that I have had the experience to talk to have nearly all followed that pattern. If I'd say anything though, I'd say that, as far as I've seen, Subaru is probably the more popular of the pair (not by much though), so I find it mildly mysterious as to why you'd say it was a stereotype to like Seishirou first.

Besides that, I don't think it's true that Seishirou fans only like Subaru as Seishirou's toy. In fact, most of the hardcore Seishirou fans that I know enjoy Subaru for his depth of character, not as an afterthought to Seishirou. Rather, more as a compliment to Seishirou.
