I know the mythology of the Ise shrine...

The sun goddess, Amaterasu, had a fight with her brother and hid herself in a cave. Without her, the world died. Another goddess managed to trick her into coming out, and upon hearing her story, the other gods threw the brother, the Storm God, to Earth. Years later, Amaterasu sent her grandson to conquer the Storm God's descendants, gibing him three sacred gifts--a mirror, a jewel, and a sword.
The sword and the...jewel, I think, are kept at Ise Shrine. Hence, when Sorata said that Ise's "hidden maiden" embodies the true object of worship, he's referrring to the sword that comes from Arashi's body. That's why Arashi's sword resembles the Shinken, or divine swords, that the Kamui bear.

But anything truthful...The Ise Shrine is completely rebuilt every 20 years, or so I hear. And the miko of the Shrine are supposedly all from the royal family (because the three gifts come down the line of emperors and all). That's all I can say.

And how'd this come out of talking about X 11, dare I ask?
