Hello, inheritance works, but it is based on your relations and not your will. A neighbour who has a better relation with you than your kids do, might inherite more then the kids.

You should consider opening a bank account. I work for SimCity First Trust Bank, Inc. and from my Simmerville office we offer households to place their cash in the bank. That way they can transfer money to a heir directly and before they die.

The best thing would be to let your main heir move into the house while you still live there. The house is normally of a lot more value than the cash balance.
