I've just finished potty-training the youngest of my three children, my son Leo, and everything went smoothly. All you need is a little experience and you'll be fine, but until then I have some advice...
Firstly make sure Beau does need the potty. If he doesn't need to use the potty he'll get bored of just sitting there and be confused about what it's for. On the other hand don't leave him too long or he'll just go in his nappy. After that it's pretty simple; just sit him on the potty and wait with him until he's done, then offer him lots of praise.
Hopefully this is all you'll need, but if nothing else is working you can try a new milk called "Smart Milk" that is supposed to help children develop the basic skills they need for life much faster than they normally do.
