In my hood, there are several different approaches, most sims stay in the home and die there-for inheritance laws and for thier tombstone to be remembered, my husband and I moved to a smaller retirement home and sold our home after our children voiced that they didn't want it-we plan on asking a granddaughter to move in with us once she's an adult to inherit the house and the inheritance simoleans.

So most sims don't move out-those that do, wait until thier children have established families, or until the new addition is a child.
