Hello, you might know me from the Home Sweet Home series. My family is rather large, 3 of 4 kids live at home with hubby and me. We got a large enough house, but there is also my home based bookstore office. The kids want a dog, but we decided no. Our household is too busy, we want the kids to focus on school, and we think the home based bookstore might suffer from a dog running about. Maybe customers will prefer petting the dog instead of browsing the books, too.

I told the kids no already, but I've started to question my decision. I think we will still say no, but maybe we should try a caged pet instead? I don't know. Would be interesting to hear from other larger households with a homebased business.
