Hi - thanks for posting the question.
Here is one of many articles on the subject but, when all is said and done, the locals (I live on the Island) believe that it is a freak of nature's light shows......
Come along, one night, and check it out for yourself!

GHOST ROAD - PORT PERRY

Sometime in the 1950s, a young man was driving his motorcycle late at night down a deserted country road in Scugog Township near Port Perry, Ontario. He was travelling far too fast for the conditions, and the inevitable happened: He lost control, crashed and was killed. Ever since, late at night, a phantom headlight may be seen travelling down that road (since re-named Mississauga's Lane), then swerving left and abruptly vanishing: that same young man, doomed to re-live that last tragic night over and over again, until the end of time . . .

Or so the story goes . . . . The truth is at the same time less romantic and more fascinating, having attracted sightseers, ghosthunters and even the Canadian news documentary TV program "W5". There are lights that travel down that road the odd night, and they have been regularly seen since the late 1800s!
