Well, I believe he said the essay was worth 30 points, and each of the identifications worth 5, for a total of 50. If this is the same "scale" as the quizzes, then it's worth about 2.5 quizzes, though the syllabus seems to imply different. (And if you've been doing the bonus questions, in that case,
that's 1/5 of the quiz per bonus question!) Professor Youngquist has implied that his grading is ambiguous, though. It may involve fuzzy logic.
