Er waren diverse bolwerken: het Valken Bolwerk, het Papegaaijs Bolwerk en het Grote Bolwerk. Deze lagen - vanuit het centrum gezien - achter de Lange Gracht. Daar werden vooral de armen begraven in de 18e eeuw. Ook was er het Geerte Bolwerk, maar ik weet niet waar dat ligt.
