Author: The Mayor [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 09:13:13 08/13/11 Sat I talked to Uncle Bob Roome-Smith on Thursday and he gave me an update on some health issues with two family members. Uncle Jim Stogdill had open heart surgery a few weeks ago. He had four valves blocked. Uncle Bob said he is doing better, although it will take some time to get back in the swing of things. Uncle Jim may be at the dinner for the wedding next week. The day after Uncle Jim had surgery, Bobby Dignan was coaching a soccer game, the game ended and all went home. When Bobby didn't show up at home the family got worried, they went back to the park, it was pitch black and Bobby's car was still there. He had a stroke and couldn't move. To make matters worse, the amubulance couldn't find the park and the family had to load him into the car and meet the ambulance at an intersection. The long term prognosis is unknown. Although he can now open his eyes and is alert, his left side is paralyzed, he can't speak and he can't swallow. I'm sure we'll learn more next week at the hospital. I told Uncle Bob to pass on our best wishes for a speedy recovery for both and our thoughts and prayers are with each of them at this time. Love to all.
