Look at who made a good point in the Toronto Sun....

Our money, our decisions

Sarah Newcomb has it wrong (“Canada has a daycare dilemma,” Aug. 19). Canada has a problem with over-taxation. Why does it require two full-time incomes to survive? Because Canadians are over taxed — income tax, HST, GST, property tax, etc. Newcomb’s suggestion of government support would simply add to the existing problem. The government, already running a deficit, would have to tax more. How about we reduce government, reduce wasteful spending and give the people back their hard-earned money — and let them decide where to spend it? Far too often the popular solution to every issue is government intervention, which politicians love as it adds to their rationalization for bigger government. A government can’t give anything to anyone unless they take it from someone else.
