Thanks, Jon for remembering the day for us.

When I was little, Dad would take me to Britnell's book store at Yonge and Bloor and as a treat buy me a book. That was a big outing. But I remember once, when I was prepared for getting the book, that he took me to Eaton's or someplace equivalent and let me choose what I wanted, which happened to be a small cloth doll. To this day, I still cherish that doll. Mind you, it's a little grubby. I have it in a chest with two small plastic dolls that Nanny bought for me when they still lived on Dunn Ave. I think we walked to Queen St. to a store and I picked them out. They were in a box and were dressed up like Jack and Jill. Of course, now they have no clothes whatsoever, poor things.

Gone, but never forgotten...
