I have been asked to post an announcement for my technophobic but extremely musical son...Dylan's band, Betty Shyne, is playing in the Canadian Musicfest. Here's the info:

THURSDAY March 12th, 2009
Venue: Bread and Circus
299 Augusta Ave (in Kensington Market) 416.336.3399

On-stage at: 12:15 AM

Who knows? Maybe they'll get signed by Jaded Rebel and become famous and we can all retire...

You can find the band on the web at:
MySpace - with music
Facebook - join the group, write on the wall, tell Dylan to get a Facebook page.

Love to all from the land of "busy doing nothing". Well, it's not really nothing. For example, yesterday I went to the Salem Public Library for a discussion with the Governor about his transportation plan (it was a cozy venue in the children's room with about 50 other constituents), then I went to apply for unemployment (finally), then I went to practice with the choir at St. Peter's. I couldn't even fit in my yoga class. The other day my friend Hallie Ephron came to talk at the Swampscott Library about her new mystery book (Never Tell a Lie) which has been reviewed everywhere (including a spotlight in the New York Times). We had dinner beforehand and caught up. It was great.

Now if I could only find a way to pay the mortgage without a 9-to-5 job...Dylan, I'm counting on you!

/ catherine
