Hi everyone
I don't know if I'm the last one to discover this fabulous book (and supporting website) but I have !
Lots of great info... some of which we have naturally discovered along the way thru our various contacts.
I will try to give little snippets of info as I trawl through it.
First piece I found on their website www.sydney-for-under-fives.com is below:

Belrose
The cafe at the Hills Flower Market on Mona Vale Road is a favourite with my Mothers Group. There is a large enclosed playground, plenty of highchairs and room to park the pram. The menu is reasonably priced with a wide array to choose from. (reader input)

Knowing this is near Nicole now and sounds like it might be of some added value for the beautification of our homes !!! thought it might be of interest.
Also, am going to try out the Powerhouse Museum which rates very highly in the book.
Will keep you posted.
Cheers
Karyn

Also - one of the playgrounds which gets a huge wrap in the book and there are photo's of it on their web page is

Passmore Reserve
Campbell Parade
Manly Vale

Has anyone been to that one ?

If you want to have a look at it there are photos of it under Photo's !! then Playgrounds then Passmore Reserve in the list of photos.

Looks good - has loads of covered equipment for sunny days and also has a cool little bike path for the trikes. There are picnic tables and BBQ's as well.

No nearby coffee though.

Also I noticed the playground on Hales Rd in Mosman (down behind the Avenue Rd BP) is now open with all new equipment... unfortunately it is not fenced at this stage.

Cheers

I have this book and also the Nappy Bag Book, I think that the Nappy Bag Book give even better information and we use it a lot.

Another great suggestion for up our way is the Bond Nursery on Mona Vale Rd, has a great big cafe and enclosed play area, and there is also a great park down the road from us in Lional Watts Park, good in the hot weather as there is a lot of shade.

We found another park a few months ago that has fab middle harbour views and a brand new, quite different set of play equipment. It would be good for a group as there is hardly ever anyone there So it's a bit lonely for the toddlers if you go on your own !But is always really clean as a result !
Also there is a large grassed area for rugs overlooking the view and the playground.

It is called the Brothers Park and is on Fifth Ave, off Montague Rd which runs off Macpherson St opposite Middle Harbour Primary School.

When the kids start using their trikes this one will be really popular - a mini road system for the kids and plenty of grass and picnic facilities around.
