Subject: unwanted astral projection, strange experiences

I was just curious if anyone out there has had experiences similar to mine. I had my first vivid out of body experience nearly 20 years ago at age 11. I split out from my body and saw myself lying on the bed. I went out my back door and floated out in the yard before returning to my body. Around this time, I would sometimes see small orbs of light in my room. My family moved when I was 13. One day, I found a Tarot deck hidden in my brother's room.After playing with it, I began having recurring uncontrollable lucid dreams or astral projections. I would encounter gargoyle-like things on my journeys. Sometimes I was dragged from my body by them and flung out into the yard. This continued for a couple of years. My family is a strong Christian family and I really got into church to try to get rid of these dreams. My bedroom was blessed twice by ministers and I rarely had any more of those dreams in that house. As an adult, I have continued to have the occasional astral projection type dream (3-4 per year). Most of them are quite pleasant or at least innocuous. It seems as though that every time I move, the area spirits or whatever come to me in my dreams to check me out. It is odd how this always happens and then I am usually left alone. I try to make it clear that I do not want anything to do with anything not grounded in the physical realm. Currently, I live in a very old house which I believe to still be occupied by the late owner who seems to be friendly enough. Occasionally, I sense the presence of a wandering spirit. I am kind of curious as to what all this means. I would like to open up a little bit more spiritually but I am afraid to because I do not want the dreams to start again and I do not want evil spirits to overrun me. Why me? Some people tell me that it is because my great-great grandfather was a shaman.I am native american (just about 1/2) living in the same area my family has lived for around 150 years. I know that there are people around here who leave their bodies and roam at night. I often wonder if it was just one of them messing with me when I was younger.I would like to delve more into the spiritual world, but how does one do that safely? I also believe in God and Christ and am unsure how to reconcile Christianity and the presence of wandering spirits that are not demons. Any thoughts?
