Subject: beginner with questions

i am reletively new to this, i have read all of the pages on here. my father was, at one point very high in the initiations(i havent asked how high) and he has given me quite a bit of background. i have a couple of questions, first i am 15 years old, but very intelligent. i am wondering if i am ready to start opening chakras, how do i find out? another question is that my dad is aware i have basic knowledge of meditation, but(not that i am aware of) doesnt know just how much i know, should i update him as i progress?

please get back to me and any additional info would be greatly appreciated.
