Subject: Points Of Pete #2(the last time)

Well...here we are.Points Of Pete is coming to an end...the second edition will sadly appear to be my last with the split of Velvet Trousers happening very soon.This edition will look at some of the good times of my Velvet experience and the lows

I got into the band while casually reading through kerrangs band gigs section at good old Deans home in the summer of 2002 while he was attedning a phone call which was from a good friend of mine Kieran.I heard my name being mentioned and thought "Is he totuing me for VT?" and he came back and asked me if i wanted to audition for the role of Velvets singer so I said, while laughing "Yeah...alright!". We went to Dundee the next day to do some of the songs i knew and kind of be taught the other ones as well and it went well...the tape we recorded sounded not so good but it appeared I may of been the newest member...and so I was.It was agreed that I would take up the role of the VT frontman and this was cool after the whole perfects thing(man...were THEY legends?!)
Summertime was really cool and every now and then we would have a jam and they would be better than what my usual day would of been...having jaffa cakes and watchin old wrestling!

Time went in and very soon the first little gig came up...Party Upon The Patio.Just playing to a few of Kierans neighbours,family and close friends.It was quite a darkish night and the rain looked like it was gonna fall so our plans may of been scuppered but no...we were saved!Cammy saved the day with his super powers in which he has possesion...well I made that up but it sounded goood. The wee gig went well and I felt it was pretty alright from my point of view that I remembered most of the words...messed up one or two lines but hey!

Then the most tragic moment of my Velvet life so far came...our gig at the airlie was cancelled with 30 minutes to showtime!I made my feelings quite clear at the time about this and will vent them once again....YOU FUCKIN BITCH!WHAT WERE YOU FUCKING ON CANCELLING THAT GIG?!?!?!EH?!?!EH?!?!?!I was looking forward to that night...there was gonna be a nice turnout with some lovely ladies coming to watch(well maybe not...but I aint exactly mr perfect myself...wow...Curt Hening)It was gonna be the first public appearence with the new line up and she ruined that bacuase she was worried that a bunch of 12/13/14 year olds were gonna come in and get pissed...bullshit! these kids were not even going in tothe airlie...most of everyone who was coming was hitting 16 and hitting 18...we advertised this as a 16+ not the 18+ that she had told us at the time...solution to solve that shit would be to close the bar...or would that be bad for your precious fucking business?!?!Whocould give a fuck if some people get pissed...we kids do it al lthe time, in fact I did that night!I blame that on you bitch...you drove me to alcohol!AGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!(wonder how Idlewild is for Kieran?)

Then talent show came...what a fun night that was and then the last gig we had.The crowd was dead and to me it was basically a jam with people watching us.It was still alright but more crowd interaction woulda been alright.

and now...the decision to split has been made.Unfortunate but it had been coming for a while now.At least we will all leave on good terms and hopefully the last gig will be the best gig...I have been Pete and you have been brilliant.
