They will not be getting their deposit back (for starters) and breaking the lease will appear on their credit report and the amount owed for the remainder of the lease.

George has said to others, 'let me know when you're moving. i will post the apartment & when it rents, you can move out and get your money back.' that's what i've heard anyway.
