Hey guys -you are going to have onlookers, intruders and hackers on Facbook whether you like it or not. The normal security settings on Facbook is not what you would consider "safe".

To make it very secure is quite complicating and learning how to do this means everyone on the same site has to make sure all the proper boxes are ticked to make it absolutely private. If one of us CO64er does not make the necessary privacy settings - this will expose the lot to other Facebook fans and followers of that defaulter.

You can also say that Voy Forums is even more open with no security settings at all.....that is true.
However, an onlooker or intruder will have to be very interested in the CO64 site and our subject matter. Whilst on Facebook the followers and friends of any Facbook user is like an escalator - forever moving and never ending. One mistake in the privacy settings and one friend looking in becomes two, then becomes four - you know how it works; every Tom, Dick, Harry & Jane with an association can look in.

Having said all that, I do agree with the widening of our Technology. Perhaps we should use Facbook for general chit chat, videos and posting of photos, etc. We should not use Facbook for criticsm, discussion of politics, personal matters and subjects of a sexual nature (not that I indulge in this. Hmmm....)
I also have a Facebook account - but I do not use it much because of continuos bad publicity re Facebook's inadequate security and privacy provisions.

Keep discussing this subject and maybe someone "out there" can advise us on the proper way of making sure our privacy is adequately guarded.
Ray
