Ayeoh.....always thought it was 'Beware the month of March'?

This morbid talk of death brings home a most unusual event that happend 2 months ago to my neighbour's (next door to me) younger brother of 31 years old.
Saw a vase of flowers outside Neil's Unit door, so I called him on the mobile as I had not seen him around for a few days and told him there were some flowers outside his door.
My question was a jocular as to when he was getting married?
Reply: "That's probably for my brother's funeral who died 3 days ago". OUCH!

Later on when I caught up I asked how his brother died?
Reply: "Positional asphyxiation".
Explanation: Stopped breathing and died in his sleep due to sleep apnea.
Can you believe that my Consulting Cardiologist and Respitory Physician had both asked me to do a sleep disorder test and I had been putting it off for 3-4 months?
After hearing of my neighbour's unfortunate family occurence, I attended the sleep disorder clinic within a week.
My results were OK and cleared me although guilty of some snoring.

So those Apeks who may suffer from this ailment of snoring heavily or holding your breath while sleeping - go get checked out. Talk about fear of dying in your sleep??
Maybe our Doc Klang Wizard may care to explain the tell tale symptoms of sleep apnea?

Ray
